Grant Programs for Businesses and Self-Employed
Many European governments offer regular grant schemes to support electric mobility. Businesses and self-employed professionals can get financial contributions for purchasing an M1 (passenger) EV and additional funding for installing AC or DC charging stations.
Subsidy Amount: For passenger vehicles (M1), direct financial grants are offered up to several thousand EUR per vehicle. The maximum vehicle purchase price is typically capped to ensure the subsidy goes to reasonably priced models.
Which Vehicles Qualify?
To qualify for the subsidy, the vehicle must be a new EV (or a demonstration vehicle with minimal mileage, typically under 6 months old and less than 6,000 km).
The vehicle must have zero CO2 emissions and the dealer must provide a declaration of conformity. In our database at [evstats.org](https://evstats.org), you can check the parameters table for each model to see if it qualifies under the standard program limits.
Support for Private Citizens
For private individuals, direct subsidies for buying cars may vary, but most countries support home charging infrastructure through green energy programs.
Grants are available for purchasing and installing a home wallbox. If you combine the charger with home solar panels, additional bonuses can cover up to 50% of the entire system setup costs.
